It's with those eyes...

That he crawls into my bed before 7am telling me to 'wake up beautiful sister'

That he brings me water and pats my head when I'm not feeling the best.

That he asks 'i wonder what it is like in heaven...'

That he picks flowers for his 'girlfriend' at his school.

That he says a prayer before he goes to bed.

That he finds joy in things like Lego and Star Wars but reading and writing too.

That he almost never goes to bed without telling my mum that, "i love you too the old house (sigh) and back a thousand billion times."

That he is stubborn, very energetic, star wars obsessed but charming and divine all at the same time.

My lovely little boy blue, one day some girl is going to be unbelievably lucky to have you.

Yes, a video recorded on this day last year, of my beautiful cousins. {And Godson.} Mr. Charlie just found something SO fascinating about the stretchy thing i use for my shoulder exercises....and Mr. Jack was trying to sneak up in the next room with out being caught. I remember this day like it was yesterday :)

365 short but long days.

Written exactly one year today:

I want so badly to say this has been easy, that it has been fun, that it was a lovely day and we ate pizza and we laughed and we packed up and that I am excited. I want so badly to see the positive in all of this, and know that a better outcome is coming. But it’s new, and it’s different, and I just can’t…not tonight at least. Most of my most precious things lie in cardboard boxes. The day is over and tonight I sleep under a different roof, with a different feel. What is so strange is the unfamiliar smell, like I don’t know this place. I don’t know this house, this neighbourhood, this bed, even. In time, though, I hope I get to know this place. In time, I hope I can call this place my ‘home’ and not my ‘house.’

365 short but long days later, and here i am, on this very night which is the 2oth of April.

And reading this tonight, all i can say is, time is your mender.

Time will not fill in the holes, or erase your memories but it will at least cover it, and make the impossible seem possible.


And my image for tonight: Taken one year ago, on my point and shoot camera. I chose it because of the blurriness of it all, mirroring perfectly what i felt in the moment i took it.

Me: *Insert bribe here*

Alex: Only one.


Please tell me that he's not getting sick of the lens in his face. Hmm, i think i need stronger bribing tactics, I'm gonna run out soon.

In every sense.

These pictures are wow. They made me 'wow' for a long time.

Miss Ella, Lucy, Alana and I ventured up to our new favourite look out this afternoon {despite the cloudy weather} to take some photos.

This is what came out of it.

There are many, many more that will most likely be posted over the next few days, but just another i want to add in. Ella and I had a lovely lazy morning together today, making lunch, watching DVD's, so when Miss Lucy and Alana showed up looking like they did, we decided we should stay behind the camera...however, we stepped in front long enough for this shot. And oh how i love her so, I am lucky to call her my bestest friend.


More to come....I am sure of it. They are just too photogenic...

I tried to play around with one of my new favourite quotes which {if it can't be seen} is:

I think it sums up photography. You may not remember the exact date you shot the photo, but you'll remember details from the shoot, crystal clear... :)

My creativity is drained today.

You see, I went to the dentist to have a cavity filled. {Never, ever, ever, ever had one before}

And to my surprise, he told me it the hole was MASSIVE.

So i had a needle, and lost all feeling in my lips and jaw which resulted in some pretty disgusting attempts at eating later {which i am sure, if i was in a better mood, would have been down right hilarrrrious, but at that point and to me, it was not.}

Cavities are not fun. Have you ever had one??? That terrible drilling noise just makes me cringe.

So anyways, now here i sit, my poor innocent tooth crying out in pain, my camera untouched because at my one ounce of motivation to take pictures i opened the curtain and it was raining. Oh the joys of the oncoming season of Winter.

So for tonight, an old image, re-vamped...What do you think? Isn't the lighting just marvellous?
