Home, sweet home.

we're home after spending a week in the sun.

i feel good.

i feel better.

i think i can survive another term of school now.

i think.

 i love this. simple. love.

And finally. On the second to last night, we went to a special place where you can see the moon as it rises. It's called, 'staircase to the moon' as it gives the illusion that there is a stairway to the moon. Beautiful. Unbelievable. Worth getting eating by mosquitoes for.

Have you got a favourite?

More to come.

Much sunshiney love,

K xx

Wear no worries

I'm on the West Coast of Australia for the next few days, and i have been for the past few too.

It's been good. Good to get away and live without school for a while.

We wear no worries at this place. We carry no stress, and certainly no sickness or tiredness. There's no hospitals, appointments, assignments, lessons or Monday mornings here. Something I became accustomed to the past few months. It's a change and it's nice.

However, I packed my camera but forgot my camera cord. So, until i am home, iphone images will have to do.

And this: Alex tried and tried, over and over to build a sand castle, and i watched over and over as it was washed away by the destructive waves. Yet, he continued building, castle after castle. He actually paused at one point when i questioned his determination and said "no i'm not stopping, i have to keep trying." Yes Alex, you do. Always.

Chase the sun,

PS- when i return I promise a handful of new images from the trip :)

'Where the wild things are.'

"Run," he whispered gently, "you have the whole world at your feet. Be wild. Be free."

Next year, I am no longer in high-school, I am on my own. In the big, wide world. What to do with a power like this?

I want to find myself, through others.

I want to meet new people with stories. I would like to make some sort of change. I would like to spread love and inspiration, all that. I don't want to stay where i am. I need to travel. I need to see the world through my lens - not just my backyard.

I know what I want, but I'm not sure how to get there.

It's all about the eyes.

Fight harder. Don't stop until you're exactly where you want to be.

Don't settle for 'okay.' Do something to change it.

Be content in whatever you may do.

The days are getting colder and shorter now. We're heading in the direction of winter time. Usually I'd be a little sad about this, but I have some pretty exciting shoots up my sleeve.

In the meantime - an online copy of my (incomplete) portfolio is on the web at:

www.katherineschultz.carbonmade.com - check it out and let me know what you think!

Stay tuned,

K xx
